On order of the Court, the delayed application for leave to appeal, the motion to file a supplemental application, and the motions to remand are considered. The motion to file a supplemental application is GRANTED. We ORDER the prosecutor to show cause in writing, in this Court, within 28 days after the date of this order, why the defendant's convictions should not be reversed, and the matter remanded for a new trial, on the ground that the trial court's statements at the beginning of voir dire reasonably could have been understood by jurors as completely foreclosing any re-reading of testimony. The defendant may respond to the prosecutor's show-cause pleadings within 28 days after they are filed. We retain jurisdiction. The application and the motions to remand remain under consideration.
